World DownSyndrome Day Poster Presentation at OP Jindal College of Nursing
On the occasion of the World Down Syndrome Day, O P Jindal College of Nursing has organized the awareness programme on 21st March 2024 at 3 – 5:00pm, Theme – “# End the Stereotype”. This event was guided by the Principal, Prof. Regina Shoba Das and Organized by Mrs Rajeswari P ,Professor, Department of Paediatric Nursing. The poster presentation was very well organized by the students, Guests are Mrs. Hemalatha Verma, principal Thamanna school & Mrs. Savitha, Vice principal Thamanna school.

World Water Day programme was conducted in Basapura Village by 4th year B.Sc. Nursing students of O P Jindal College of Nursing. World Water day is a day for people to show support and appreciate the fresh water( Non salty water) which is only 1% of the world water.

On September 10, 2024, the Fourth Year Nursing students participated in Mock drill disaster management.
Learning Outcome – Students Learn the skills like transportation of the injured casualties and care in disaster situation.

Educational Visit to Sri G Chenga Reddy Memorial School for Mentally Challenged Children's and Old age home
Educational Visit : On 26/9/2024 The visit was organized to give students practical experience in caring for mentally challenged individuals and elderly residents.---
Activities:- Talked with mentally challenged individuals to understand their needs.- Observed how elderly people are cared for in the old age home.- Discussed care plans and treatments with staff.

“Maternal Health Awareness Day"
A seminar was organized on occasion of “Maternal Health Awareness day on 29/01/2025, in lecture hall –I of O.P. Jindal college of nursing. Initially unfolding of the theme was presented by Mrs. M.Sandhya priyadarsini, Associate professor and awareness on “Menstrual Hygiene” was presented by Mrs. D.Sneha Bindhu, Assistant professor to B.sc nursing students of III Sem ,V Sem and IV year. Around 110 students and faculty have attended the programme.

O P Jindal College of Nursing have organized a guest lecture on the occasion of Cervical Cancer Awareness month on 31/01/2025 in auditorium. Guest Lecture was delivered by Dr. B Archana, consultant & Dr. Fathima Junior doctor Dept. of Obstetrics & Gynecology, JSMSH and the audience of the lecture is 160 women’s of JSW Shakti Foundation.

"Observational Visit for Milk Dairy"
As a part of Community Health Nursing postings observational visit, students of V Semester B.Sc Nursing had visited Nandini Milk Dairy, Ballari, under the supervision of teaching faculty Mrs. Vindhya, Mr.Gautham, Mrs. Archana & Ms. Asha B.
In Karnataka, dairy sector plays an important role in the state’s socio-economic development & constitutes an important segment of the rural economy. KMF Nandini provides livelihood to millions of homes in village, assuring supply of quality of milk & milk products to both urban & rural areas.

"Observational Visit for Water Purification Plant"
As a part of Community Health Nursing postings observational visit, students of V Semester B.Sc Nursing had visited Water purification center, Ballari, under the supervision of teaching faculty Mrs. Vindhya, Mr.Gautham, Mrs. Archana & Ms. Asha B. The plant staff were knowledgeable & explained the process thoroughly, answering questions about water purification process. The visit provided valuable insights into the complexities of water purification & the importance of clean water for public health.

The Oath taking (2023 & 2024 BATCH) ceremony and Graduation (2020 BATCH) of OP Jindal College of Nursing was organized on 09/03/2025. Laughter therapy is a therapeutic techniques that uses laughter to promote emotions & physical wellbeing. For this 3 days session all B.Sc. Nursing students & faculty of OPJCON were present. They explain about laughter therapy exercises about 20-30 min, like warm up exercises, Deep breathing exercise, laughter exercise & cool down exercise.

On the occasion of World Down Syndrome Day, O.P. HEALTH TALK REGARDING "ANTENATAL CARE AND POSTNATAL CARE"

Organized health talk and health checkup for antenatal mothers from 20 students of 4th year B.sc Nursing.

Conclusion:
1 The health talk successfully increased awareness among antenatal and postnatal mothers about the importance of maternal health.
2 It empowered them with knowledge to make informed decisions during pregnancy and after the delivery emphasized the value of routine antenatal visits and postnatal checkups for a healthy mother and the healthy baby.

"Health camp on communicable and non- communicable diseases
As a part of the Community Health Nursing posting students of 4th year B.sc Nursing under the guidance of Mr.Prabhakara.R, Assistant professor, Department of CHN.
Organized health talk and health checkup for antenatal mothers from 20 students of 4th year B.sc Nursing.
Conclusion:
1 The health camp on communicable and non-communicable diseases was a valuable initiative aimed at raising awareness, promoting early detection, and encouraging healthier lifestyles among participants.
2 Through health screenings, educational sessions, and one-on-one consultations, the camp successfully informed the community about the prevention, symptoms, and management of various diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, tuberculosis, and viral infections.
Overall, the camp was a step forward in promoting public health and reducing the burden of both communicable and non-communicable diseases within the community.
